Hello all,

I am new to the forum. I currently have a Honey Bee FP V3 with a Neon series Guru-Z frame. I am considering either converting the HBFP to belt drive tail or building a custom fixed pitch from the ground up. I did notice also that Guru-Z no has the 3mm collective head. I have also considered creating a ground up custom micro collective pitch.

Bring on the suggestions.

I would also like to see examples from everyone's builds. And, if you don't mind, could you tell me the process required to convert to the belt drive if I convert the HBFP.

Thanks,

Joe

Joe,
I have a HoneyBeeFP and built a Guru Neon frame, added 12mm belt tail kit, added Telebee gyro, added [GE38H]3900kV Brushless motor and ESC. I also use Xtreme fiber blades that are shortened by one inch on each end. It flies great. It was lots of fun gradually adding modifacations.
I would not build a collective pitch on this setup. I am beginning to build an EXI-250 collcetive heli. It has much better head gear and is a stronger machine than anything from Guru.
have Fun,
Vince

Thanks Vince,

I did see the EXI 250 kit and am considering building a 250 and 450 identical to each other. Just something fun I guess.

Did you get a new receiver for your HoneyBee or did you remap the HBFP receiver? I noticed on mine that it actually has 6 channels on the receiver but I'm sure it isn't mapped to use it for what I want to do.

Sounds like you have a couple pretty cool helis there.

Do you have any pics or vids of them?

Thanks,
Joe

I plan to use my Futaba 7 radio set that has heli programing. I think that you need a heli programable radio set.
